I sleep with it every night so it feels like I am with you. Can you remember going to the Roald Dahl museum. It was so fun and we laughed so much. Dear Mum, Thank you for being you. Thank you for helping make me who I am today. Thank you for ‘getting me’ and all my quirks; helping me to grow and giving me the self-belief to know that as long as I always did my best things would be ok. Thank you for showing me that we shouldn’t stress the small stuff but also giving me the moral courage to make a stand for something and challenge myself in life. Thank you for giving me the space I needed but always letting me know you were there for me. I never felt anything other than your love. Thank you for impressing the significance of family and how rewarding it can be and thank you for accepting Lisa and Aidan as your own when I told you how important they were to me. Thank you for sharing the joy you felt when you first met Cerys and Robyn and being the best Nan they and Aidan could ever want. I remember one occasion, when I was a lot younger, and had done something dastardly (I don’t remember what) and you told me and showed me how disappointed you were in me. It was something that burnt deep inside and I felt so awful that I had made you feel like that I vowed to never make you feel like that again. I hope I succeeded. You were so strong and courageous – right up until the end. If I can be even half the person you were I know it will be a life worth living. I miss you terribly; but you live in us all and you will not be forgotten. I love you. David x
